Although he calls Texas home, working in Alaska has always been on Thomas’ bucket list. Working at IFHS has allowed him to check that one off! Some of the things he loves about Unalaska are how friendly everyone is, meeting many different people, and the beauty of the location.
The desire to serve in rural healthcare led Thomas to earn his BSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He then went on to earn his MSN and DPN from Rocky Mountain University of Healthcare Professionals.

Christy joins IFHS from Mobile, Alabama. In fact, coming to Unalaska is the first time she’s lived out of the state of Alabama! “I’ve always wanted to be in medicine,” Christy shared. “The first time I was able to work in an Emergency Room (ER) as a student aid, I knew that was my calling.”
Christy attended a small community college then transferred to a larger university. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2005. She graduated in May 2017 with her Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Family Nurse Practice and Adult- Gerontology Acute Care Nurse practice and July 2017 with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). Although most of her career has been in the ER, she is very passionate about developing continuity of care for rural Alaska, particularly Unalaska, Alaska.
